David Rodigan, Russ Disciple, Earl Gateshead, David Hill, Stuart Patterson, Mr Faso and Nick B.
Rootikal returns to East Village on Sunday 7th of March.
Special guest on the night is Russ Brown of Disciples and Boom Shacka Lacka sound system fame. Russ has been central to the roots reggae scene for over twenty years now, first coming to attention through a series of dub albums that he and his brother Lol produced for Jah Shaka in the late 80s. The list of artists that he's since worked with reads like a roll call of reggae greats and includes Sister Rasheda, Prince Allah, Mykal Rose plus many of the best UK vocalists. Suffice it to say, Russ's knowledge is deep and this promises to be one heavy session.
Rootikal resident David Rodigan will also be in the house and will be coming with a selection of classics, new releases and dubplates, delivered in a way that only he can. In the basement, alongside David and Russ, will be Earl Gateshead and David Hill, whilst upstairs in the lounge will be Stuart Patterson, Mr Faso and Nick B, who will be drawing classic rockers, mellow roots and dub.
Together they will be spinning a Rootikal selection covering all bases of righteous music - no slackness only positivity.
The session kicks off early in the lounge at 2pm, where you can expect the usual quality Sunday roasts to be joined by a special jerk chicken, and the basement will run from 6.30pm.
March 7th: David Rodigan, Russ Disciple, Earl Gateshead, David Hill, Stuart Patterson, Mr Faso and Nick B.
