Set up by ex Fabric/Salmon&Compass manager Mark Usher and ubiquitous party promoter Andy Bird The George Orwell Free House is set to be a veritable sanctuary of good beer, wines, conversation, and music at the top end of Essex Road, Islington.
Having got a month under our belt to make sure everything works and the beer flows smoothly it seems appropriate to mark the occasion with an opening party... or three.
DJs already confirmed include...
Ashley Beedle, Andy Smith, Terry Francis, Spin Doctor, Phil Asher, Andy Bird, Liamski, Gid, Yam Who, John Pique... with some late additions to follow.
On Sunday 15th we'll be winding things down with a live jazz session with Mike Lesirge and the boys... more on that one here http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=354132444882&ref=mf
Our opening party music will be starting from 8pm till 2am Friday & Saturday and from 7.30pm till 10.30pm Sunday 15th March.... but we'll be at the boozer the whole weekend! Kids are welcome during the day so if you cant be around for a knees up later do swing by for a glass early doors.
Within the maelstrom we'll be screening the Scotland v England Six Nations Rugby at 5pm Saturday, then Man Utd v Fulham at 1.30pm Sunday. To combat the inevitable blurred vision both games will shown in HD.
So whether you're popping in for a daytime drink or settling down with us for a full week-end booze-a-thon, we hope to see you over the weekend...
