After a special one-off session at CAMP last month, Deviation returns to The Gramaphone basement with special guests Floating Points & The Gaslamp Killer alongside resident DJ Benji B for April.
Ever since dropping the now-massive ‘Love Me Like This’ in its original edit form, we’ve looked forward to inviting Floating Points to Deviation. It's fair to say that one of the first places his productions were ever heard was at the early Deviation Sessions, so we are happy to see his work going from strength to strength. His Vacuum Boogie EP and People's Potential were released on his own record label Eglo, alongside others on Planet Mu, Brownswood Recordings and R2. With his DJ sets ranging around the genres of Detroit Techno, Soul, Boogie, Jazz and House, we look forward to having Floating Points playing an uncompromised freestyle set to remember.
Alongside Floating Points, we'll be inviting The Gaslamp Killer to Deviation. Part of Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder collective, The Gaslamp Killer is renown for his energetic DJ sets, and infectious, totally unique character. As well as producing, he holds his weekly forward thinking night, Low End Theory, in Los Angeles. Expect to hear ‘Psychedelic, Glitch, Avant-rap and Beats’ from The Gaslamp Killer for a short but sweet, hour-long set.
Resident DJ Benji B will be holding down the decks for the rest of the session alongside host MC Judah as usual.
As always we anticipate this to be a busy session - so please arrive early to avoid disappointment on the door.
See you on the dancefloor...
