Basement Boogaloo returns to the Star of Bethnal Green for the first in a series of bi-monthly parties, kicking things off with a guest slot from none other than Toby Tobias.

Raised on a diet of New Order, Skye, Stevie Wonder and – err – Bros, Toby’s first forays into production began in the hallowed rave era of the late 80s / early 90s. Fast forward to the turn of the millennium and his tunes began to prick the ears of Stevie Kotey at Bearfunk and Rocky and co at Low Pressings.

From here, a steady flow of productions has emerged, culminating most recently in high quality outings on Rekids, Tiny Sticks, Under The Shade, Late Night Audio and Electric Minds. DJ-wise, Toby will be familiar to many from his appearances at nights hosted by the crews behind the latter two imprints, and he now has a schedule which spans appearances at leading clubs across the globe.

Luckily for us, he’s a local lad at heart and has agreed to play the East End’s premier ravey boozer in return for a Mr Cod special and his cab fare home. Come and help us kick the bank holiday weekend off in style.
