Come and join the party when one of Brisbanes' youngest, most talented DJ's hits the decks for his 21st Birthday this weekend.
Driven by his passion for rhythm and melody, Tim discovered his hidden love for creating music in form of classical guitar from an early age. It would be a couple of years before the strings retired, leading him down a path creativity in the form of mixing music. At just 15 years of age a trip to a local surf shop was all it took to propel this young kid into becoming an aspiring DJ. It was here he was introduced to a new territory of music, club House cuts. Back in the days where vinyl dominated and CDJs were just a piece of technical jargon, a pair of turntables was bought and crate of carefully selected vinyl was brought into the very surf shop which gave him inspiration. After just three months in the bedroom and just 16 years old Tim had scored his first residency at the local surf shop. It was here he started to developed an an eclectic taste in jackin’, chuggin’, in-ya-face big room house that has captivated the ears of many Brisbane punters over the past couple of years.
Once allowed to enter the clubs, he was finally allowed to immerse himself into the thriving Brisbane House scene. Appreciating not only the music but the talented display of skills from DJs drove his motivation to be that person offering a new sound and personality. With a scene that can sometimes seem impossible to break the bedroom barrier, a true turning point was when Tim smashed out a winning set at the Central Station competition where “all the judges were instantly glued to the projector screens showing his hands moving like Obi-Wan Kenobi had possessed his soul”. This exposure helped shape following years which saw him play at an extensive range of clubs in Brisbane including Planet Nightclub, Uber, Basement 388, Barsoma, Fringe Bar, Birdee Num Nums, Empire and the Monastery. The fresh youngster was offered a weekly residency with Saturday @ Family which he still holds onto today. Week in week out Tim has played along side some of the biggest names in dance music including Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Sidney Samson, Avicii, Wolfgang Gartner, Hardwell, Kid Massive, Bart B More, Hijack, Micky Slim, Bass Weazal, Paolo Mojo, Sammy Jo, Mobin Master, Kid Kenobi, Hook N Sling, John Course and the list continues. He has had his first festival appearance at Stereosonic last year. Catch Tim putting his spin on the freshest cuts at Family this Saturday Night.
