This month we have a very special and different guest for Ultraplay in the form of British DJ & producer Mr Jim Edmonds aka Robotwon.
Jim has a unique 'ballsey' attitude and style when it comes to mixing Techno and Electronica, or 'Telectro' as he puts it, where he effortlessly blends into the mix what ever the hell he feels like, and that can be anything from The Prodigy to... wait for it... Huey Lewis and the News! WTF!? It's just plain wrong, it shouldn't work but it does work really well in some kind of weird and wonderful way. So get ready for something a little different this month and come down and check out this talented individual who dares to walk off the old beaten path..
As if that wasn't reason enough to check out Ultraplay this month, we have no less that 7 DJ's playing!!! for 10 hours non-stop from 2.30pm till midnight with FREE ENTRY ALL DAY & ALL NIGHT...
Backing up Robotwon, will be the mesmerizing and crowd pleasing Lyn Saine who's been delighting many dance floors recently all over London, such as 333 and The Egg. The beautiful and entertaining Lyn Saine plays a seriously banging and uplifting mix of alternative - acidic Electro-Tech which makes the crowds go crazy. If you haven't been lucky enough to catch one of her sets yet, then nows your chance.
To get this party started the right way from 2.30pm, we have also have back by popular demand, the amazing duo Maker+Meyer who have proven to be a real hit with the Brick Lane day-time clubbing scensters. They'll be warming up the party with their deeply eclectic and downright pumpin' cool and up-front funky tech sounds. Joining Maker+Meyer will be - also back by popular demand - crazy Spanish DJ's Pakodilio Circus & Jon Sojo. These two were the instigators for Ultraplay's February Spanish Techno Night, which was one of the busiest Ultraplay parties ever as the local Spanish massive descended upon the Cafe 1001 in their hundreds for one of the maddest parties in history at 1001.
And finally, Darren C will be adding the finishing touches on the party with some extra nasty, bad-ass-bass-heavy Techno frequencies that'll make your clothes flap - with the help of the Cafe's monster Function One SoundSystem.
