OFF SONAR 2010 ITALIAN LABELS SHOWCASE

In recent years, parallel to the famous three day Sonar Festival in Barcelona, there have been established collateral “Off Sonar” Parties that play a real role as a “litmus test” of the festival itself, without compromising the undisputed artistic scope and organizational skills that have always distinguished it.
Characterized by their total spontaneity and organizational independence, the “Off Sonar” events are important for their symbiosis with the beautiful Catalan city, on a par with Sonar itself: a continuous and conscious exchange between the event and a respectful way of living in Barcelona in those days of world level most important for the contemporary musical scene.

This year the list of “ Off Sonar” events will be enriched by three major labels of EDM and Techno and House Italiana, all united for the first time in one evening.

Laterra Recording a label born in 2006 strongly desired by DJ Ralf which is counted thirteen successful productions of high level. Laterra keeps among its producers Alex Neri, Sossa, Federico Locchi, Uovo, Ricky Montanari, Dario Lotti, Guido Nemola, Luca Agnelli, Uglh, and Carlo Carità; at the same time including less well known and emerging names like Pizeta, Alfredo HP, Adicto Sound and Frankie Watch. On this occasion Laterra Recording will be presented by Dj Ralf himself joined by high level label producers Sossa and Federico Locchi.

Carillon Recording of Giuseppe Cennamo, born this year but already recognized internationally thanks to productions like “Break My Carillon” Carillon actively collaborate with Mendo (Cadenza), Matteo Speditati, Leon and Uses. Widely supported by Marco Carola, Ralf, Danny Tenaglia, Dubfire and Locodice.

Deependence Limited founded in October 2008 by a group of artists and DJs who have been present in the Italian underground music scene for several years, especially related to day time “Deep’n morning” roadshows which over the years have witnessed the participation of the most important National and International djs. This showcase will focus on Djs like Genny G and Adru & Mark.

By the union and enthusiasm of these three labels with the direct collaboration of Electronix network, on the major Italian distributors, ever attentive to the contemporary electronic scene, and everything innovative arising on the EDM European scene, the idea has been formed of presenting one’s one music and one’s one artists to the great heterogeneous cosmopolitan musical community which every June attends the Sonar Festival.
The showcase will take place on 16th of June 2010, from 9pm until 4am at the Mon Key Club at the Omm Hotel.
The Omn hotel, famous for its architecture and design was inaugurated in 2003 and is located in Paseo De Gràcia (Rossellò, 265), well known street in the heart of Barcelona, a few steps away from Gaudi’s Casa Milà which is possible to admire from the swimming pool on the panoramic terrace.
Moreover its Moo restaurant also boasts a Michelin star and is one of the most renowned restaurants in the Catalan capital.
The side “Off Sonar” events toned down for the duration of the festival, will be the shop window for whatever is not included in the official programme. Hence the relative concept of equality in the visibility at the base of the showcase, whether included in the official works or organized independently from them…
