DO IT! shaking the granite foundations up in the company of:
OFFSHORE dj set (london, uk)
aquacrunkgrimeboombap......ahem..beats! Originally from the granite city and now based in London, Offshore has been putting out productions on some of the most respected and revered beats labels known to beat diggers and bloggers the world over. From the bumping tropical incarnations of Deboot to the the now defunkt (reincarnated as Numbers) Stuff label - most known for Rustie's 'Cafe de Phresh' and 'Jagz the Smack' releases - Offshore has served up the goods. Those goods combined with his mixtape blends showcase a range of influences ranging from the boom bap jitter of Rustie, growling grime and gritty bricolaged harmonies. Freshly signed to Big Dada and with the theatrical menace of 'Beef Strong Enough' getting airplay on radio 1, expect big tings in 2010 & beyond. Take your hat off'n'get down to an Abz lad on the up!
DJs URAKI RIDDIM, KID BELL and WHITE CHOCOLATE
Another home coming, this one for DO IT! originator and digger of all things beats related - Uraki Riddim who returns from Oslo to play a strictly vinyl set of anything from boombap to Detroit. Joining the dots between White Chocolate's 80s chocolate jack and Uraki Riddim's beats is Kid Bell who is widely acknowledged and respected as a digger of the darker to lighter sides of soul.
UBER AV and VJ POP COM
Our Norway and Scottish visual crew combine together to create a colourful, entertaining and occasionally serious world of their own for only the second time. Expect to see Wesley Snipes turn into an elephant head and bounce giddy in the jungle while the cats sip on Um Bongo.
