Wow - what a weekend that was!!!
Thanks to all of you who made it down to our Bank Holiday Headspace Spectacular! The party was rocking throughout the day and you all moved your feet and shaked your collective booties from the first beat to the
last. A show of support and praise to our two super new residents IAIN KEMZ and PETER GLASSPOOL who stepped up and smashed it as we knew they would! Also not forgetting our other residents who all were absolutely brilliant. A fantastic party and we hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did!
Luckily for you guys, the party never stops down at Headspace HQ and we have some brilliant things planned for the coming weeks starting this Saturday when we welcome down YELLOWCAKE, co-founder and resident DJ from one of our favourite East London parties, MOOCH.
Ed Jones, aka Yellowcake’s genre spanning djing career began over 11 years ago, kicking things off with D&B back in the late 90’s Ed quickly built himself a reputation for cutting edge sets that landed him gigs alongside the likes of Pendulum, Sub Focus and Scratch Perverts. Continuing his journey through into breaks, he became a regular feature on the bill for Hoi-Pol-Oi (Bristol) Monumental (Hereford) and Muse (Nottingham) playing alongside the likes of SuperStyleDeluxe, Krafty Kuts and A-Skills.
Fast forward to 2009 where Ed linked up with London's afterparty queen Natalie Coleman to found MOOCH, a monthly club night consistently picked out by Time Out and Mixmag as London's Saturday night destination for Tech-House & Techno. Ed's 2-4am slot at MOOCH has only served to enhance his reputation for laying down sets that keep the punters on their toes with an edgy, groove orientated and dubby brand of Tech-House crafted from his broad musical history. Outside of MOOCH a residency with record label & sound system collective KSS has given him a chance to flex the harder Techno side of his musical muscle with gigs at Frenchtek and KSS’s highly acclaimed East London venue, Bocking Street Warehouse.
Despite a relatively recent switch to 4/4 he’s already been seen rocking floors with diverse acts from tINI & Anthea to Chris Finke & the Liberator crew. With big plans for MOOCH and his 2010 diary already getting blocked out with upcoming gigs at the Run to the Sun festival, Muak @ Egg, Cable and his regular radio-show slots, this is set to be a vintage year for the former country boy from Hereford.
Ably supporting Ed will be our residents who will keep delivering some of the freshest, most exciting house and tech you will hear. There really is no better way to spend your Saturdays so we will see YOU on the dancefloor!
