It is all too often that we hear grumblings and moaning from people
about this year’s festival prices and how much cheaper it is to attend
a music festival in another country, what with all the jacked up drink
prices and pricey food masquerading as a healthy option.
Well for once you can sigh relief because on July 24th & 25th
something special is happening on the banks of the river
Shannon....and its got nothing to do with Salmon.
The BUMP! festival will be rolling into Doonass this Summer for its
first year. The location is sublime, and the Venue is the famous
Anglers Rest. The festival aims to be a little different than most.
The festival is brought to you by Vivamusic, Dubble Bass, Secretstash
music and Minging Cat so you can expect much diversity and a serious attention to detail.

There will be camping included in the very reasonable ticket price and
also various activities for the 2 days including Chill out zones
beside the river, BBQ pig on a spit and a veggie corner as well.
There will be 2 stages covering many musical styles all kitted out
with glorious Funktion One sound systems to bring you the noise. The 2 arenas are called PURE & FULLY.

The Pure area will boast some of the best reggae, dub step, hip hop
and drum n bass crews that Limerick have to offer while the Fully
arena will concentrate on electronic music styles such as house,
techno, breaks and more.
Some of the names announced so far are LUKA BAUMANN who will be making
his first ever Irish appearance. His Exit 2008 set is rocking stereos
all across the world. A fine example of how hard techno should be.

For the house heads Limerick favorite BEARWEASEL will be performing a
special long set.
And in very exciting news for anyone period BUMP! have just secured
Drum N Bass legend MARCUS INTALEX and also rising star ROCKWELL.
The festival also aims to showcase what Limerick has on offer and will
have showcases from the city’s record labels/Club nights and some of the artists aswell. Already on board are the fantastic Subtle Audio, Antiqua Recordings and HSuan records. Club nights include WTF is Tech house/Micronite/Dubblebass/Cheebah and many more to be announced over the coming weeks.

Also there will be showcases from NPLD(no place like dome) a fantastic
festival taking place on the summer solstice in
Sligo(http://www.npld.ie/). The Surge collective from Dublin who have been responsible for the Techno arena at Life for the past few years as well as the fantastic Sibin festival in Balbriggan will be
showcasing with their Djs.
So all we need now is the weather!
