We kick things off early for our June party and welcome everyone to the CAMP for England’s first game of the world cup, against the USA (7.30pm kick-off). The CAMP are installing a huge screen for the tournament and with its kick-ass soundsystem the atmosphere is set to be electric (if not a little tense!) Mix in some drinks promos (4 x bottles beer £10 / Jug cocktail £15) and what better way to warm up for a night of music and dancing?! (oh and email info@thecamplondon.com to reserve the best spots in the house).

So, on to the music, which will start straight after the game, and what a line up we have in store…

Killer Whale – Live – ‘King of New York’ E.P. Launch Party (ISM / Electric Minds)
5-piece live disco band?
Musicians & producers from Faze Action & Yam Who?
Arthur Russell tributes?
Is it all over my face?... Hell yeah!
We welcome Killer Whale for the launch party their debut EP release, “King of New York” hits the shops on Monday 14th June. It features reworkings of two Russell penned tunes, “Tell You (Today)” (originally released by Loose Joints in 1983) and the all time classic, “Is It All Over My Face?” These guys are set to blow up the nu-disco scene, so catch them at FixedFear before they head off to Croatia’s Garden Festival in July, so you can say ‘I saw them first’!

Gatto Fritto – DJ Set (Dissident / International Feel / Electric Minds)
Ben (Gatto Fritto) Williams has had a string of killer releases over the past few years, not least his disco bomb ‘Invisible College’ (released on his own label, Fritto Morto), as well as some excellent remixes of the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Al Usher and Subway. He has also been working on collaboration project, Hungry Ghost with recent release ‘Illuminations’ on International Feel gaining huge support from the disco heavyweights. Check his recent mix for Tim Sweeney’s Beats in Space radio show to understand why we’re so excited to welcome him at FixedFear.

Big Behaviour – Live
Finally we have the up and coming London band made up of drummer-vocalist Jake Fairnie, Dan Colman on keys and guitar and Ellie King on vocals and violin. They are currently adding finishing touches to a debut EP, and with tracks about a prisoner in a beehive, social suicide, and a BBC cameraman fantasising about a weathergirl the guys hope their songs will become the quirkiest representation of popular music in recent years.

Of course residents Jamie, Josh and Nick will be filling the gaps with their ever popular, eclectic mix of soul, disco and house oddities and classics, whilst the Entwurf chaps have prepared some very special world cup themes visuals.
