Renaissance Man, Kato, Levins, Generic DJ’s, and The Wedding Ring Fingers
Renaissance Man returns to Sydney for an exclusive show at Civic Underground on Friday June 11th. As pioneers and leaders of the new tropical tech movement, the Finnish duo will be touring hot off the back of their much anticipated ‘Babbadabba’ EP.
The duo had their start running the acclaimed monthly club night ‘Now!’, treating Helsinki to an all star rotation of acts including Boy-8-Bit, Mowgli, Zombie Disco Squad, Radioclit, and Duke Dumont. A natural progression into production saw them championing new and exciting sounds with their first EP ‘SprayCan’ released on Switch’s Dubsided imprint in 2009, quickly establishing itself as the unofficial soundtrack to Australia’s Stereosonic music festival.
A release soon after on Sound Pellegrino saw the two developing their brand of quirky left-of-centre, bass prominent, tech house even further, gaining attention and the thumbs up from Teki Latex, Riva Starr, Jesse Rose, Solo and Brodinski to name a few. The Renaissance Man sound is hard to put into words and draws influences from techno, house, hip-hop sampling, and bass orientated sound system culture. Previews of their much anticipated ‘Babbadabba’ EP, which releases officially May 24th on Made To Play, has set the online dance music community buzzing.
This is an exclusive Sydney Show and sees the Generic Collective celebrating their first birthday. The party starting crew will be celebrating a years worth of events throughout Sydney and have promised some special birthday surprises in store for punters.
Renaissance Man will be flanked by the finest of Sydney’s DJ’s including Kato, Levins, Generic DJ’s, and The Wedding Ring Fingers for what is lining up to be a very special night!
