Over the summer the mulletover crew have been spreading their love in the likes of Croatia, canal parties in London and finishing things up with a trip to Ibiza in September, all in preparation for their momentous return to London with their infamous Halloween debauchery. This party has always been a bit special in the hearts and minds of the mullet crew & supporters alike - it could be because it's the first party after a 4 month break, it could be because the immense line-up always blows us out of the water or it could just be because they do it so god damn well.
mulletover certainly haven’t been shy with the line-up in room 1, bringing to the table the legendary Steve Bug, Seth Troxler and their sole resident, Geddes. As a DJ, producer and head of the family of record labels Poker Flat, Dessous and Audiomatique, Steve Bug is the connoisseur of quality underground dancefloor music playing with seductive and laid-back funk, dirty retro basslines and random bleeps, incorporating techno electro and basic funk into bare house grooves. Seth Troxler appears to have had a speedy and seemingly effortless rise in the international house and techno scene. This year he was one of the most talked about DJs at Miami’s WMC and as well as banding around the Americas with the Crosstown Rebels on the ‘Rebel Rave Tour’. It’s fair to say he’s on fire right now and we can look forward to Troxler’s unique and weird flavour of tracks on the night. mulletover resident Geddes completes the main room after a summer playing iconic party destinations such as Space Ibiza, Croatia’s Garden Festival and Glastonbury festival’s 40th anniversary event.
New York after-party masters Resolute will be taking good care of room 2 where they bring Berlin-based but UK-hailing Ewan Pearson, who is best known for his studious work behind-the-glass for Tracey Thorn, The Rapture, M83 and most recently Delphic and is one of mulletover’s most popular guests. Ewan will be playing alongside Elon. As resident DJ for the cutting-edge Resolute collective, he is known for his seamless, widely creative and danceable sets. As part of Clink Recordings and Dumb-Unit families, Elon has been a prominent producer in bringing forth a fresh, forward-thinking sound to modern techno, keep-ing true to the charm of the music’s underground spirit. His distinctive style glides between house and techno, from dark and emotive territory to the more rhythmic and uplifting character of electronic music. In 2009 Glimpse was nominated for producer of the year in DJ magazine and player of the year in IDJ. The last few months have seen him release the 'Drifting E.P. on Carl Craig’s Planet E Label, E.P.s on Cadenza, Get Physical/Kindisch, Buzzin Fly and releases on his own Glimpse Recordings imprint with Kompakt. Last but not least, Nisekay was born out of a love for a good party, following his formative years as a party warrior, DJ, producer and co-creator of lo*kee. Early on in 2008, he rented a warehouse unit in East London with the sole purpose of holding parties in his living room and so lo*kee was born. His kitchen became the bar and over the next year some of the biggest names in the underground scene graced his decks.
In charge of room 3 are Man Make Music, who pride themselves on having delivered some of the most cutting edge, unpretentious and up front parties in London. To help them deliver a momentous event they welcome Renaissance Man, originally from Finland with key releases on Kitsune, Dubsided and remixers of Crystal Fighters and Delphic. Renaissance Man energetically cut up and mix ethnic/world samples with tech house and minimal fidget sounds and helped to pioneer the movement nicknamed 'midget house' alongside producers such as Solo and Mowgli which was heavily supported by Annie Mac. Cooly G will also join MMM, riding high on the hype surrounding her immaculate fusion of house and dubstep. Of all the new producers to pop out of the London underground, Cooly G is leading the way - not only do her dark and techy beats sound like no one else's, but her sexy vocals subtly turn up the heat. Love & Mercy and co-founders/ promoters / residents of the raucous Man Make Music parties Sketchy & Another Amit complete the line-up for this firecracker of an event.
The single most important thing about this party is your attendance and fancy dress. So ticket – check, ridiculously horrifying costume – check: let the havoc and horror commence!
mulletover would like to thank:
Bunch for the video /design and Flavio / Chanobar for visuals.
