If you didn't already hear, we've moved venues to Brooklyn Fireproof (two blocks from the Morgan L)! This is a huge upgrade and its the same venue that currently hosts Sunday's Best. Come eat, drink and dance the sunset away with us.

SHADI MEGALLAA

Shadi was raised in Abu Dhabi, on the shores of the Arabian Gulf, with very little musical inspiration at hand. He remembes that he first got introduced to electronic music while he was around 14. After moving to Lawrence, Kansas in 1997, he bought a pair of decks while studying Archicture at the University of Kansas. Later in 2001 he started to produce his own music. His first release came out on Danish imprint Tic Tac Toe. He's also contributed a remix for Argentinian netlabel Igloo. There are a few Eps that are due to come out in 2007. The future see's Shadi being busy in the studio and refining his live-set.

TAIMUR

One of NYC's most active tech-house DJs, Taimur is a major force shaping the scene. It is not uncommon to witness his tireless efforts in making his party’s vibe one of the most talked about in the U.S. Whether it be a widely known artist, or someone he is introducing you to for the first time, he is sure to please.

His deep DJ sets are a late night staple in NYC's underground. His extensive knowledge of music is displayed in all of his sets. Although you can hear influences from the many artists that Taimur has worked with, it is obvious that he has shaped his own sound with quite the flair over the past years. You can catch Taimur opening, headlining, and closing many of the best parties around the US. With partner Fahad, he has helmed the Blk|market Membership parties, producing over 100 events that have hosted some of techno's biggest names and brightest up-and-comers at Secret Locations, LOVE, Cielo, Bar(13) over the past 4 years almost.New York Magazine just awarded his party as the ‘Best All-Night Dance Party’ in the March 2010 issue. It is this residency of his that has musically matured him and made him a DJ to watch.

One of the most important artists that has influenced and enhanced Taimur's knowledge in the music industry is Craig Richards of Tyrant / Fabric. His creative visualization and accomplishments musically have inspired Taimur throughout the years they have been working together.

When Taimur is not busy djing and putting together his events, he can be found working at Halcyon record shop in Brooklyn NY (halcyonline.com). He is an integral part of the team as he is the main music buyer for the house/techno/disco/electro genres of music the shop has to offer in vinyl and cds. His love for digging to find those extra special records is his biggest passion. It's no wonder why Taimur is ahead of the pack when it comes to new music. His bold and confident taste in music will keep you coming back for more.

LEKS

Leks was introduced to the New York house scene in 1996 and soon after started DJing at college parties. He eventually became a regular at club Vinyl, where he went to learn from the best DJs in the world, including Danny Tenaglia who held class every Friday and Danny Howells once a month on Saturdays. Those were the most influential days for Leks and he took that time to learn about the history of dance and meet the local players that have been responsible for the molding of Deep House in New York. This exposure has helped craft Leks's sound into what can be described as deep and sexy tech house mixed with revamps of Garage classics. It wasn't until the closing of legendary clubs ARC (Vinyl) and Filter 14 that Leks began emerging as a DJ in New York City. Since then, he's been able to play alongside some of the greatest DJs and producers in the world including Lee Burridge, Reboot, Paco Osuna, Clive Henry, Melon, Nick Curly, Hugo, Behrouz, Evil Eddie Richards, Simon Baker, the Low End Specialists and the Scumfrog and has been a regular at BLK|Market Membership parties and at club Vertigo in Costa Rica. Leks is also responsible for throwing New York's latest Thursday night underground party destination called Ampd!. Ampd! is held in a speakeasy called Stay and guests so far have been Brothers' Vibe, Kabuto & Koji, Bill Patrick, Soul Clap, Neil Aline, Crazy Larry and Taimur + Fahad. Keep an eye on Ampd! for more frequent parties and larger lineups, and on Leks for production releases, in early 2010.
