The Norwegians are back to deliberately scandomentify the turntables of Kleine Reise. Stop!Dancing is here for the third time to discuss the fine arts of wierd House rythms and analog lights.
If you have been clubbing in Oslo, you have per def been dancing to the Norwegian prince of House, G-Ha. His rythmic excelency has been voted both the 5th most handsome dude AND the best dj of norway. Its not without reason. G-Ha has been there since housemusic arrived in Oslo in the late 80's. Together with chef Olanskii and Vinny VIllbass, he is running the 10 year old Sunkissed clubnight. The night has resulted in a residency at the Robert-Johnson in Frankfurt and irregular nights at fabric in London and one-off’s as far afield as Australia, and Gothenburg. Ranging from dubby disco to minimal the only red thread is a base of funk and leftism tying it together. SUNKISSED: “...for lack of a better parallel, the city's Hacienda Club” - PitchforkMedia.com
Vinny Villbass has operated as a musical peace envoi and norwegian club dj for 10 years, mainly with focus on percussive and disco oriented house music. In addition to having a master degree in acoustics, Håkon "Villbass" Vinnogg has been recomending music on Norwegian national radio, been the third wheel of the legendary Sunkissed nights in Oslo, and constantly oiling the Diskjokke&VinnyVillbass machinary.
The last years, productions in collaboration with Diskjokke has led to great reviews abroad and vinyl release on Kindisch, remix release on Rebirth Italy and gigs in New York, Istanbul, Big Chill Festival, in addition to several gigs along the fjords of Scandinavia. The Norwegian polar disco is also expressed through DiskjokkeBand, where Vinny Villbass playes guitar. He now lives in Berlin, stroling around with his x-small I'm Single t-shirt.
Creating mayhem every single monday in Oslo, the pricewinning production/dj trio Brokesteady has become one of Norways finest club-acts playing the biggest festivals in the Norway and around Scandinavia in general. Behind the three masks of euphorism hides Andrè Bravo, Niels Theissen, David Røsset.
The queen of the Insomnia festival in Tromsø, Charlotte Bendiks, is currently a resident of Köln where she is involved in the co/pop festival, red bull music academy and a neverending story of other projects. The über productive femme fatale is a regular at the Kompakt store and delivers a sweet blend of deep house and scandilicious elektronic disco.
