Plaid is a London-based British electronic music duo comprising Andy Turner and Ed Handley. They are former members of The Black Dog and used many other names, such as Atypic (Andrew Turner) and Balil (Ed Handley), before settling on Plaid. They have collaborated with female singers Mara Carlyle, Nicolette and Bjork, and have released records on the labels Clear, Peacefrog, Black Dog Productions, and Warp Records (along with Trent Reznor's label Nothing Records).

A Speakeasy straight out of the Prohibition era! Imagine the smoke filled back rooms of Harlem, where hep cats and kittens shot the breeze, shuffled a few swinging steps and generally had a good old time listening to swell tunes.... Now: minus the smoke, replace Harlem with Dublin and add YOU! The Vertical Rhythm Joint promises a night filled with Blues, Jazz, Swing and Lounge music! Be you dapper or dew-dropper, doll or moll - this is the Saturday night joint for you. Grab a drink and chew the fat or hot foot it on the floor - but be there!
