With London clubland experiencing several high profile venue closures lately, it is heartening to see that Plastic People's recent short closure has only been for genuine refurbishments, and the iconic basement space is re-open for business at the end of July. Not only that, but it now sports a brand new custom-built sound system (assembled by the venue's own sound don and owner, Ade Fakile) that is said to be even better than the legendary original, plus brand new toilets, refurbed floors and general redecorations.
It is therefore with great pleasure that Buzzin' Fly announces its return to Plastic People on Friday Aug 20 for another of its ram-jammed sweatbox parties. Since returning to the venue where they made their name in 2006-2007, Ben Watt's imprint has thrown a series of sell-out events over the past 12 months that play to the label's strengths - warm, emotional deep dancefloor music for a devoted and ebullient crowd under a low ceiling with ace sound.
Expect vintage classics and the latest frontline tunes from head honcho Ben Watt and longtime resident partner, Chris Woodward, in one of London's finest small clubs, now with a new spring in its step.
