Chew The Fat! New Years Eve 06 is happening at The Sub Club, Aldgate East, London. The venue choice came about when Chew The Fat! founder Paul Trouble decided to take the night up East and this former student university club as it seemed the perfect the place to host what promises be the NYE party of the year.
Returning to his club roots Tayo headlines The Fat! NYE. Tayo has been an integral part of the success of The Fat! over the last 9yrs. As the breaks and breakbeat scene has grown Tayo has always pioneered the music, taking it out from the underground and into the public domain. With is Radio 1 slot now taking hold across the country we expect great things from this man and honoured he is back for a special NYE Fat! set.
Paul Trouble Arnold is the founder and man behind the Fat! machine. Since The Fat! beginnings at The Bug Bar in ’97 Paul, along with his team of loyal subjects, has brought breakbeat to the masses. The Fat! now have residencies all over the world with nights in San Francisco, Berlin, Austria and OZ.
Baobinga & I.D both hail from Manchester. They DJ and make dance music, generally of the house / breakbeat / techno variety. They are currently shacked up with Treehead in a basement, where they have lots of fun trying to cook in our kitchen, and making emotive-techno-breaks.
Merka, real name Mark Ford, originally from Somerset, has now set out his stall of Breaks in London, and is set to cause some serious heavyweight damage in 2007 with a new artist album and live set up all ready to rock! Definitely one to watch!
Unique 3s Deejay sets are legendary, switching from jackin electro house to breaks to rollin drum & bass. Unique 3 has been cited by such luminaries as The Chemical Brothers, Coldcut, Goldie & LFO as inspiration. They were recently reminded of their major role in the creation of early House Music scene when 'The Theme' was voted the number 1 track played at the The Hacienda in the '90s, voted number one by the world famous Deejay team who played there!
Disposable DJs are breaks scene stalwarts - with over 14 years experience behind them playing everything from Hip-Hop and D&B through to Progressive and Electro House and Breakbeat they have won residencies at top London breaks nights such as Chew The Fat and Hum, and rocked the Breaksday tent at this year's Glade Festival.
Room 2 will be hosted by Mayo Clinic feat DJ sets from DJ Smiggy, Fickeld Gruber and Cruzer. These guys host a monthly party at The Living Room, SW9 and throw one off events across London. The room will have a party feel with old classic tunes and house tracks galore!
