DJ SCHWAY // SHADES OF GRAY
Michal Ruzicka, aka DJ Schwa, is the man behind BEEF records and electronic duo Shades Of Gray. Michal became engaged in music thanks to his father, who is also a musician himself as well as an owner of a famous recording studio in Prague – ORM. At the young age, dance music caught his attention mainly through Radio 1. Around this time he tried to mix his first tracks. In 2000 he started performing publicly. In 2002, Michal started his weekly resident night in Prague at Cross Club and since 2003 he has been working as a sound engineer at ORM studio in Prague. In 2004 Michal, along with DJ Slater, started working on the first Czech progressive label and by the end of the year “Tribal Vision Records” was born.
At the end of 2005, Schwa rapidly changed his style and the idea of an innovative techno/house label became reality and thus established the foundation for “BEEF Records.” BEEF records has since then been slowly establishing itself as one of the hottest labels on the tech/house scene with release from respected artists such as Robert Babicz, Deepchild, Kreon, Jet Project, Arnaud Le Texier, Shur-i-kan, Pezzner, Mike Monday…
Schwa’s sets are not strictly one style oriented; he combines sounds that progressively flow from deeper shades of house to techno rhythms. Schwa’s unique mixing and track selection has resulted in a particularly massive following throughout Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, France, Austria, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Slovakia and Australia. Schwa has performed at huge international festivals such as “Open Air Field” (Czech Republic), “Parihaka” (New Zealand), “No Mans Land Festival” (Hungary), “Rainbow Serpent” (Australia), “Earthcore Carnival” (Australia), Good Vibrations (Australia) and while touring Asia Michal had a chance to perform at the biggest club in Japan – Ageha.
Schwa supported Djs/projects such as: Gui Boratto, Jimpster, Minilogue, Extrawelt, D-Nox, Propellerheads, Dj T, Jamie Jones, Ripperton, Alex Smoke, Antix, Orbital, Chemical brothers, Steve Angello, Deepchild, Kasey Taylor, Future Sounds of London, System 7, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Heidi, Tim Green and many more.

Ruben Garcia aka GarcyNoise was born in Pamplona, Spain. A City made famous by Ernest Hemingway and the parties he held there. At an early age, Ruben began listening to and absorbing a large amount of music from his father's collection. Supertramp, Dire Straits; The Animals, Creedence Clearwater, and the Eagles were the flavors of the time. At the age of ten, his great interest in radio led him to begin recording fictitious programs with his father's devices. He created tape loops using the old cut and paste technique. His father gave him his first vinyl, "Duran Duran Big Thing". This and "Cult of Snap" turned him on to electronic music. He is a melomaniac and has not stopped buying records since.
Ruben began doing parties in 1994 throughout Navarra at the ripe age of 17. It was at one of these parties that he met Marco Ruiz and founded and directed his Monday night, electronic music FM radio show. "Digital Trax". The Radio show continued until the year 2001. In 1997, Ruben began his club residency in Pamplona at the club Artsaia throughout his time at Artsaia he was the director and a professor in the Dj and new technologies in music department of E.M.M.A. (Music Modern School, Navarra's Goberment supported), teaching classes on production of electronic music and DJ workshops. In 1999 he opened up his own record shop, Stereo Records, specializing in electronic music.
Throughout the next years, Ruben began traveling throughout most of Northern Spain to DJ at various clubs with artists such as Kevin Yost, Brett Johnson, Martin Landsky, David Alverado, D'Julz, Mateo y Matos, Nigel Hayes, Murray Richardson, Alex Moran and various others including his opening set for Orbital.
A weekend in 1997 in which Ruben spent at a friends house playing with a few studio machines were enough for him to realize his passion and need of musical creativity. Soon after he bought his trusty Atari and a few synths, what to everyone's surprise is still what he works with in his studio. He hasn't stopped buying and making studio equipment ever since.
In 2001 in an effort to cut out the distractions of running a record shop, radio show, residencies and writing of music reviews for newspapers, etc… Ruben decided to move to Barcelona and with then "Soulfulas" production partner, Al Velilla, and set up his own "Homeless Studios". He then bagan working at the record distributor Decoder where he would later begin his first label, D:Press Industires.
In 2004, a little more confident and knowledgeable, he decided to start up his own personal project and more dance oriented "Justified Cause Recorthings" label and it's various sub-labels "Justified Entertainment" and "Without Justified Cause." The former being a bit more Deep House oriented and the latter more focused on Ambient and Experimental and preparing to see it's first releases later this year. One can also find Ruben's studio efforts in publicity spots, websites a well as in the mastering process of other artist's music. Ruben's well trained ears have even kept him busy as a sound technician for several Orchestras on tour.
As a remixer, he is one of the most highly solicited remixers in Spain at the moment and has done various remixes for artists such as Groove Armada, Charles Webster, Samantha Fox and more!
