Switzerland’s dance prodigy Deetron is heads to Australia for a national tour in September. Operating under the alias Deetron since the early nineties, Sam Geiser aims to keep the legacy of Chicago house and Detroit techno music alive. He has dedicated most of his life to making and performing dance tracks in their truest form, and has a unique, melodic production style – a real housey take on Detroit techno sounds. His immaculate mixing skills has captured the hearts of fans worldwide, and Deetron finds himself kept constantly in demand internationally.
After his first residency DJ spot at legendary Trax in Zurich, Deetron has since signed to and released tracks from Phont Music, Music Man, Strictly Rhythm and Cocoon. His massive and downright impressive collection of releases and remixes includes one of his first fracks Dolls for a Diva in 2001, and widely acclaimed Deetron in the Mix compilation in 2002 – tracks which made him known and loved across the globe, in places as far away from his hometown as Japan.
Walking a fine line between melodic and soulful, and gritty industrial mixes, Deetron appeals to the techno heads as well as the house freaks. His tracks like Emphasis, I Cling and Let’s Get Over It have stood the test of time since the early-to-mid 2000’s. With quality over quantity as his personal motto, and a harsh inner critic, Deetron may not release very often, but when he does, you know he means serious business.
2010 gave already birth to two amazing 12”: Each Step (feat Seth Troxler) on Circus Company & Collide on Green. Both releases got major attention in press and went straight up in the charts. With remixes for DJ Hell, Steve Bug, Tony Lionni, Aril Brikha and Danny Howells, this is proving to be quite the productive year for Deetron. He embarks shortly on an Australian tour, covering all major cities.
