Christian Burkhardt Headlines “Mutiny”
A Collaborative Production Amongst Chicago’s Techno Promoters
Chicago's underground promoters are causing quite a stir at Vision Saturday, October 16, collaborating on a night dubbed, "Mutiny." Techno, house and tech-house sounds, are to be the night’s soundtrack - a radical departure from the longstanding trance music driven programming of Vision’s Saturdays. Acclaimed German producer Christian Burkhardt will be making his LIVE Chicago debut, alongside some of Chicago's premiere DJs, such as Jason Patrick, Frederick Zahm Lee Jarvis, Savile and Detroit new comer prep.step. VOLATL Events and the newly formed alias. are joining forces with Migrashun and MiM Productions to raise the caliber of event production in Chicago with this distinctive collaborative show, booking DJs with world renowned reputations alongside the Midwest’s rising stars, who represent many of the city’s EDM collectives. Vision nightclub will be hosting this free event for those passionate about the expansion of dance music.
German – born Christian Burkhardt broke – through as an artist/producer in 2007, with releases on Oslo Records and Raum…musik, which quickly found their way into the record cases of a borage of dance music taste-makers. Burkhardt has always been a club insider, working on music and video programming for “Man v. Machine,” an electronically driven German TV program. His music is greatly infused with the sounds of new wave, hip hop and 90’s club music – which makes the Burkhardt sound distinctly original. His live set is constantly evolving and consists of songs that are exclusively created for the respective medium. With recent remixes and releases on Mobilee Records, Deep Vibes, Raum…musik, and Oslo, Burkhardt is quickly becoming one of the most sought after producers in dance music today. Burkhardt’s LIVE PA, consisting only of original productions by him is not to be missed.
Klectik/VOLATL artist and Detroit native Jason Patrick, a local favorite at SpyBar, Smart Bar and more, will be delivering a set of seamlessly mixed Detroit techno, deep techno/house and contemporary tech-house. Frederick Zahm, creator of the Souvenir event series will also bring his unique blend of Parisian tech-house and techno for the audience’s auditory pleasure. Mutiny is a 21 and over show and is free with the password “Mutiny” before 1 am. Mutiny will be in full force from 10 pm to 5 am in the main room at Vision Nightclub.
alias. is a new sleek brand in the North American nightlife industry. The company will focus on dance music event productions, as well as having a small arm in artist PR. The full launch date has yet to be set; we expect it to be this winter. Jonathan Gavenda, the mastermind behind the “Varsity Allstars” events, heads up the newly formed collective. alias. is sure to deliver memorable events that will maintain the notoriety of the VAS shows and Gavenda’s past productions.
