Line-up /Zed Bias, Mr Shanks, Tom Linnell, TSW, Luke George Skelton, Wow & Flutter
Well, well, well, this is really the biggest booking we have ever made and are extremely excited.
One of the pioneers of breakbeat garage his pseudonyms include Maddslinky, Phuturistix, Henchmen, Daluq, Talissman, Ruffcut Bias, Nu Design, 7 Wonders, Dekata Project, Strontium Dog – just some of the names ZED BIAS, aka Dave Jones, has recorded under in the last ten years as himself or in collaboration with others.
With a slew of seminal releases in 1999 on his own Sidewinder and Sidestepper imprints, Jones then hit the UK Charts as Zed Bias in 2000 with Neighbourhood, now widely regarded as one of the all time classic UK Garage tracks. So much so that with the recent resurgence in the 2-Step sound in the UK club scene it was re-released last year with a remix from Roska that fully redefined its importance to a younger generation of clubbers.
He is one of the pioneers of breakbeat garage but is always moving with – or ahead of – the times and his recent productions still grace the playlists of Radio 1 DJs Gilles Peterson and Mary Anne Hobbs, as well as into the record boxes of DJ / producers like Toddla T, Blame, Skream, Plastician, Oneman, Benga, Kode 9 and Martyn (who included ‘Lost on Tenori Street’ on his recent ‘Fabric 50’ mix).
Support comes from two of Sheffield's own bad men.
Suckerpunch wizz kid George Bethell has played with some of the biggies and is never overshadowed, he can ignite life to the dancefloor and keeps those kids dancing.
Now this all round party man can play to every crowd. He keeps the dub-'eds, bass-'eds, electro-'eds and even the smack-'eds happy. Who knows what to expect.
