Line-up /Madame Funk, Brian Blackout, Fucci, OxCraft
A 2,400 sq studio in Williamsburg will be transformed to accommodate the young at heart and the strong of stomachs. Bring your appetite for manic laughter, carny libations, carnal dance and strong local craft beer. DJ's spinning the best of 90's dance, Nu Disco and House to deliver that same rush you feel while riding the ring of fire-minus the puking 12 year old.
Madame Funk will toy with your distant and not so distant memories, reinvigorating the sounds of funk, disco and house the way she remembers it to be. Synth, symbols and bass make up the layers of her favorite tracks handpicked from her top list for this special night of mayhemt. Her one goal: to get your fucking ass on the dance floor. Is that a robot farting or is this track an electronic orgasm?
Brian Blackout plies the waters of the new and the old, the serious and the ridiculous, playing with the edges of each until the boundaries blur. A typical night would find him jumping through italo, nu disco, boogie, electro, garage house and crazy rock edits with a peppering of nostalgia for good measure.
Fucci plays shimmery music with heart and soul, ranging from classic house and leftfield disco to underground dance and decadent pop. She gigs around the city and BK at spots like Santo's and Public Assembly, and currently holds a residence at The Bellhouse. Check out www.djfucci.com for the full rundown.
Oxcraft's style of mixing is just as full of variety as his musical background. Born in Connecticut, Juan Ramos AKA Oxcraft was exposed to a wide range of musical genres early on, from hip-hop and R&B to freestyle and house music. His playing style is playful yet remains cohesive blending dance floor oriented deep house and techno, funky garage house just seeping with '95 love, and even a few quirky and strange selections.
