Mn presents... Portable Aka Bodycode photo gallery
Portable aka Bodycode Has been re-scheduled to March 25th. More Details here
It's with a heavy heart and damp socks that we have to inform you that, unfortunately, Bodycode is unable to make the journey from Berlin to Dublin for tonight's gig due to the adverse weather conditions.
Fear not, however, we have spare socks! Also, two of MN's favourite DJ/producers will be joining Oisin Murphy Live in The Underground for a night of quality house and techno.
Leopoldo Rosa aka Lerosa and Slowburn's Phil Long have very kindly stepped up to fill in at very late notice.
They need little introduction but for formality's sake...
Both are signed with the highly regarded Uzuri label and both are without a doubt two of Dublin's hardest working and most respected Djs.
Lerosa's set alongside Tevo Howard and Phil's set at the Mn Rave in the summer are two personal highlights for 2010 so we're very excited about the gig.
We are currently in the process of rescheduling Bodycode/Portable and hope to have more info very soon!!
In the meantime, don’t let the snow hamper the weekend and stop you from making it down to see three of Dublin's most talented acts, all for the reduced fee of just €5.
Fuck it, we're always more interested in the session than the cash so the first 25 people get free entry too!
Check out mixes from Leo and Phil on mntothat.com
Competition winners' guestlist will now be valid for both tonight's gig and the re-scheuled date.
Thanks for all your support!!
MN presents is delighted to host the I.E. debut of Alan Abraham’s live Bodycode/Portable show in the Underground, Kennedys on Friday 3rd December.
Abrahams has created a unique aesthetic which constantly evolves and draws influences from his own life experiences, past and present. His formative years, spent in South Africa, are evoked through his Portable moniker, where tribal rhythms are arranged alongside more atmospheric indigenous tones. This is juxtaposed to more accessible productions under his Bodycode guise which he conceived during his time in Lisbon. Here, Abrahams has adapted a more dancefloor friendly sound with techno awash with faint vocals and housier melodies, influenced no doubt by his earliest Chi-town records. The combination of elements from both his Bodycode and Portable aliases create a very distinct sound which is too often lacking in modern electronic music. With past and upcoming releases on Spectral Sounds, Süd Electronic, Perlon, Naif, Karat, Scape, Karat, Mutek and Revolver (to name but more than a few) we are very excited to have him over to Dublin at last.
In support we have home-grown talent & analogue freak, Oisin Murphy. A former Electric City and Test stalwart, Oisin has temporarily hung up his record bag (until the after party that is!!) to concentrate on his own music. Fresh from his impressive Space 54 debut last summer, his tweaked and expanded live show is definitely one to check out.
This promises to be a cracking night of live techno not to be missed so make sure to get down!
