Chrome Hoof aren't a band to be pigeonholed. The (at last count) eleven-strong tour de force take genre-trashing to a whole new level, effortlessly deconstructing a wide range of styles, spanning prog, disco, electronica and riff-laden metal. Lola Olafisoye - their bewitching frontwoman - delves into a magical world of cosmic rock while the band charge through heir hyperactive sonic exercises and visually spectacular theatrics.
Chrome Hoof are a 10-piece, space-jazz obsessed, progressive-doom band in glittering capes. Theirs is a world of psychedelic futurism, described as, “joining the dots between intergalactic disco and satanic menace.”
"A psychedelic blend that stomps an eerie hinterland where Frank Zappa, Funkadelic and Magma meet...the results can be a brain-twisting mix of sophistication and brute force." Q Magazine
Impossible to pigeonhole they loosely take their cue from jazz and funk's great mavericks such a Mars Volta, Parliament and Sun Ra Arkestra with The Mothers Of Invention thrown in for good measure. Astonishing live, advance booking is strongly recommended.
"This band are simply unlike anything else in the world...more exciting and terrifying than getting into a travelling steam fair's dodgy looking rollercoaster without strapping yourself in..." NME
“Music which bombards the senses like the mutant offspring of Funkadelic humping Slayer’s leg…Filthy disco-doom-electro-screamo-acid-metal-vaudeville-funk never sounded so good.” BBC
"A fabulously bizarre mix of parliament sequins 'n' psychedelic pazzaz, seamlessly punctuated with prog-inspired passages of thunderous conceit and delusional grandeur...the album as a whole is magnificently marshalled and digitalised for immaculate 21st Century consumption" Uncut
