Bass Ache (in association with Bass Culture Bristol project) excitedly present to you; PANGAEA!
Discovering dubstep via the sounds of Mala in the backroom of a Leeds club in 2005, Kevin McAuley was inspired to found the city’s first dubstep night, Ruffage, and launch himself into the studio.
Fast forward to 2010 and he needs little introduction, after becoming not only an established DJ/producer in his own right, with huge releases such as last year's bass soaked anthem Memories, but also the co-owner of the renowned Hessle Audio label with fellow stalwarts Ramadanman and Ben UFO.
Their young label is already the subject of much critical acclaim from discerning dubstep and techno fans and responsible for progressive, landmark releases including TRG’s ‘Broken Heart’, Ramadanman’s ‘Blimey’, Pangaea’s own ‘Coiled EP’, ‘Router’ and ‘You & I’ alongside material from likeminded producers Untold and Martyn.
Alongside Pangaea we bring you a hand picked selection of the ever dependable Bass Ache residents, eager to be once again let loose for another session in Bristol after rocking the top deck for Crazylegs @ Thekla back in August. Sewing a delectable patchwork of all things bass heavy, from the depths of deepest garage, through to the most anthemic uk funky.
All this, on a Wednesday night for less than a packet of 20 fags? You would be beyond foolish to miss this one, believe!
