secretsundaze are very proud to reveal details of our annual New Years Eve party, taking us into our 10th year of existence!

The party this year will be taking place at The Red Gallery a relatively new and great warehouse / gallery space in Rivington Street, Shoreditch. With 3 rooms of music, the main room has a “heads down” kinda vibe, with numerous other interesting areas where one can escape the throng. Of course all the usual trimmings and production touches will be present.

Joining residents Giles and James we have one of House music’s true legends, Chez Damier (Balance, KMS, Prescription). Chez, since re-launching his DJing and production career last year has certainly had something of a renaissance and with the increase in popularity of House, attention has understandably re-focussed on him. His music much released on the seminal Prescription and often collaborating with Ron Trent, truly stands the test of time as some of the most sublime and sensual dance music ever released. Never one to rest on his laurels or trade off his past, he has released a number of essential tracks over the last 18 months and also had one of the biggest underground hits of the year with the magnificent “In My System”, caned and championed by none other than Villalobos.

Also joining us we are very proud to present the second ever live appearance in London from the hottest man of the moment, Space Dimension Controller (R&S, Clone). Within just one year this young talent has clocked up a number of killer releases on the likes of Clone, offshoot Riyal Oak and now the mighty R&S records. His new mini LP has been flying off the shelves and with an RA Podcast under his belt this guy is seriously blowing up! His sound is a unique combination incorporating House, Techno, Electro, Funk, Boogie into one seriously grooving jam. Unsurprisingly he is being held in the same high esteem as Kyle Hall, Joy Orbison and Floating Points.

Plus we also welcome a second Irish artist in, John Daly (Feel Music, Drumpoet Community) for the London debut of his live set. John has been prolific since his debut release in 2006 with a string of stunning releases on the likes of his own Feel Music imprint, Francois Kevorkian’s Wave, Mule Music and Drumpoet to name a few. His releases cover a wide ground from more slow-mo Disco-ey numbers through to more pumping House cuts and his dynamic live set has already taken in the likes of Panorama Bar and Robert Johnson to rapturous response. His latest release can be listened here.

Taking over the second room we welcome back our good friends, ReviveHER, this time playing host to one of NYC’s hottest labels, Throne of Blood. Making the exclusive trip over the pond are label artist Populette and label boss James Friedman. Having formed in 2006 by James and The Rapture, the label has steadily built to become one of the hippest and most hyped labels around, down with all the main DFA / LCD players, fuelling a compelling a new sound of House / Disco / Punk and Psych Rock. Bicep, from the Feel My Bicep blog are also representing the label on the night, while ReviveHer main man Bi-Bop, responsible for some great parties this year, from Dalston Superstore, The CAMP, Passion to secretsundaze back room at Rich Mix, holds the fort.

Taking over Room 3 we welcome a new crew into the fold, the Non-Sense guys, who’s monthly residency at Plastic People and regular East End Warehouse parties, have been a must for those seeking the obscure discerning beat. Formed of Judah, from Benji B’s legendary Deviation party, Mr Wonderful from Nuts to Soup blog and Benny Blanco (Chain Gang), their mix of Afro, Boogie, Soul, Hip-Hop as well as more contemporary and electronic Detroit / Synth jams, will form the perfect complement to the musical happenings of the other rooms.

All of this makes for one hell of a New Years Eve party. We think the line up is one of our best ever and the combination of this, a great venue in an east London central location makes this a must go party this New Year.

Looking forward to see you on the floor

love

Fri, 07 Jan 2011Rock on... SS is in my opinion always a top night... Good vibes, friendly people and reliably good music...

The full DJ list was Giles Smith, Space Dimension Controller then from (roughly) 2-6 would have been John Daly, followed by Chez Damier then SS's very own James Priestley....

Check www.flickr.com/photos/antonyprice/sets/... for full gallery pics of the event, you may in there....

Fri, 07 Jan 2011Was my first SS and will most definitely not be my last … only sorry I didn’t attend one sooner.

Went to Sancho Panzer first, which was nice and cool in a dad house sort of way. Arrived at SS around 2am and immediately felt at home, felt just like an old style rave from distant years gone by (which is never a bad thing). Lots of happy faces and had a good few silly conversations with random people.

Thought the music in the main room between 2 and 6 was top notch. Absolutely no idea who... More
