London’s longest running Afrocentric club night, The Shrine, returns to Passing Clouds for a Future Sounds of Africa Session featuring a London exclusive set from Donso (Mali meets Paris: traditional African music meets electronica) supported by London's Ruby and the Vines (Forget Vampire Weekend, this is the nu sound of afro-rock) and the Shrine resident DJs Max Reinhardt and Rita Ray. Expect a wild and slamming night of Afro-b...eats from the past, present and future.
Donso, meaning hunter in Bambara , is a collaboration of four musicians from Mali and France, Their debut album, which was release in June 2010 on Comet Records, is a well-rounded journey from the deep roots of Malian music to an exciting and melodic African electronica sound that could only belong in the 21st century.
