Egg’s 2010 new monthly Saturday club success, Bodymove puts on its most impressive party to date on Friday December 31st when it hosts New Year’s Eve’s White & Gold Rio Carnival event to round off a rapturous ten months.
Pulling out all the stops production and decor wise, Egg will be transformed into a scene from Rio’s exuberant Carnival, bathed in white and gold, as Bodymove creates its first ever magical New Year’s Eve party in London. Using Rio as inspiration, Bodymove set up a Brazilian Big Top in Egg’s heated Garden, hosted by the Sambatralia troupe of musicians, percussionists and dancers, central to the whole NYE party. Hosted by Rita Monteiro, Sambatralia showcase live band Batucada Pagodão hailed for their incredible percussion and authentic costumed Brazilian dancers, alongside sizzling samba and baile funk DJs, Limão, D.Vyzor (Guanabara) and mash up king, João Brasil. Carnival visuals run riot courtesy of VJ, O Cangaceiro.
Rio de Janeiro is world-renowned as one of the most breathtaking and thrilling places you could possibly imagine celebrating a New Year's Eve. Everyone dresses to impress in fabulous whites, and the whole city crackles in the infectious electric carnival atmosphere.
Continuing the theme inside, Bodymove dress Egg’s three floors in carnival colours. Showcasing all shades of house music from tech to funky, Bodymove muster a mighty line up headlined by US DJ Spen of Code Red and Defected Records fame. One of the hottest US House DJ/producers around, Spen is about to release his mighty Muthafunkaz album debut “The Muthalode”, which most recall from the massive “The Way You Love Me” smash with Marc Evans. Based in Baltimore, and one of the original Basement Boys, Spen is also working on tougher news sounds with Karizma as The Deepah Ones, and recently remixed Robert Owens ‘Greater Love’ floorfiller. Spen’s emotional house music set will explode just after the midnight bells at Bodymove and partygoers will be glued to the floor, throwing shapes to his exclusives-fuelled soundtrack.
Egg keep the party running with an after-party - Bodymove Afters 2011– “All roads Lead To Egg” - kicking off from 6am until 2pm for those that don’t want the party to stop and carrying on well into New Years Day. Sure to be one of the biggest parties this NYE, tickets for Bodymove’s White & Gold Rio Carnival Party are on sale now starting at £25, so nab one early before they go up.
