After building an enviable reputation over the last 11 years as the best of the UK music festivals, this year V Festival has spread its wings internationally, launching in Canada, the USA and now Australia!

The Virgin Group and Michael Coppel are pleased to announce the introduction of V Festival to Australia as an annual event, commencing in 2007.

SATURDAY MARCH 31ST – CENTENNIAL PARK – SYDNEY

The inaugural Australian V Festival will deliver the quality of artist and experience for the ticket buyer for which the event has become internationally renowned.

The first bands announced in the lineup for V Festival fit the international ethos by bringing together a rich variety of influential bands – many of whom have never toured our shores before.

With more to be announced during the coming months, the first set of V headliners confirms the diversity that is the trademark of V.

Tickets on sale Monday December 4th at www.vfestival.com.au & all Ticketmaster outlets (1300 799 753).
NB: V Festival fans will not get their event tickets in hand until early March. This is to ensure that tickets reach the hands of real fans rather than those hoping to resell at inflated prices.

Tue, 03 Apr 2007The little red tent was kinda strange. We got there at the end of Rub n Tug and it was emptying out (i guess because GA was starting) and it wasnt even half full for when we were there for Kitsune. Was the 2manyDJs crowd really that big? I was about 20 people back from the stage and didn't really think to turn and look!

Thanks Nik!
Alot of those pics are actually Paul's though (I take credit for the above 2manyDJs shot!).. but i notice we got some similiar photo steez.. especially with... More

Mon, 02 Apr 2007I enjoyed this festival better than Good vibes. Better crowd that were there for one thing; the music. The drink lines were crowded, but overall I enjoyed the room to move around. Groove was good, dude from Pulp was excellent and Pixies were awesome. Did not hang at the techy tent which is amazing so can't comment but this festival had a good vibe that good vibe did not have.

Mon, 02 Apr 2007It must have been slightly odd for 2manydjs to be in live Radio Soulwax mode to a crowd of a few hundred (with 80% of the crowd was at Groove Armada) and then to switch over to DJing as Groove Armada finished and then slapping on records to an audience 5x the size.

That wicked little red tent in the corner was great. Rub n Tug were good, kitsune dudes were not so bad... had a lot of fun in there. Gnarls Barkley I thought lacked spice as did the Pony Club.
