Since the release of their debute album 'Hello Mam!' in 2005 Modeselektor is one of the most important new sounds in electronical music. Gernot Bronset and Sebastian Szary met in the underground scene of Berlin and started to make music under the name Fundamental Knowledge, which they changed in 1996 to Modeselektor.
On a techno basis they started building their own sound with influences from hiphop, IDM and electro. From 2000 they released multiple tracks on BPitch Control (Ellen Alien). With the album 'Hello Mam!' but expecially 'Happy Birthday' they reaced a new audience also outside of the dance scene and they became a favourite performance on festivals.
