-Scandal presents its first edition of 2011 with a line up that depicts the shape of things to come this year...Dalston Superstores intimate basement will this month lend its four walls to Slz, Tony Bar and Greg Brockmann for the January edition of Scandal.
French born and now Berlin based Slz, real name Valentin Foy, has been honing his talents in the electronic music scene for the past few years, most notably with his releases on ‘Stop Clone Music’, Italian label ‘Titbit’ and Canadian ‘Monique Musique’. Slz seems to perfect a difficult balancing act with his productions and live sets; dubby trip hop influences are played alongside some seriously complex patterns, trippy techno, glitchy minimal and a selection of the kind of deep house that swallows you whole. The result? A continuously interesting journey for the ears and mind that leaves its audience captivated and firmly on the floor.
Alongside Slz Scandal welcomes Tony Bar. His deep down tech house style with smooth and rich elements harbour an almost Chicago sound, encompassing only the sexiest of elements and keeping this artist and his sound ticking and intriguing. After a long term love story with hip-hop and reggae Tony Bar started flirting with electro sounds in the south of France countless years ago. Today, in association with his buddy Mikolai, TonyBar run’s the label Unomi Records, releasing house musical projects, always delicate and always sensual. Alongside his Unomi project, TonyBar has seen his works on labels such as ‘Release Sustain’ and ‘Picknik’.
The first of many Scandalous 2011 editions to come - we are proud to announce these two Berlin based guests to play alongside host Greg Brockmann. Happy New Year!
