Belfast Music Club DJ's
We're chuffed to announce the return of our pals at Feel My Bicep to flexx their musical muscles this boxing night. Should be a Belter! Heres a little bio:
Growing up with an Amalgamation of Jazz, funk, Disco and Detroit Techno helped Bicep form an obscure approach and understanding of music. After each picking up a set of 1210's in their early teens they set about collecting records and experimenting to find their own style. Skip forward several years and numerous dj appearances playing others records, Bicep realised they needed to make their own brand - succumbing to as Bicep describe it, "house infused 80s analog inspiration."
Sounding like they grew up immersed in classics like “Can You Feel It“ and “Strings of Life,“ Bicep have delivered a 12“ on Throne of Blood that’s old school in feel and still utterly current. Disco & house with raw soul
Bicep’s first 12“ came out on Citizen Kane’s NYC edits imprint Ghost Town Records and quickly sold out. Their second 12“ has just been repressed by Traveller Records. As well as remixes of Tal m Klien and Cosmic kids which are due for release early next year
In addition to a busy schedule producing original tracks (look out for Bicep’s EP2 coming early 2011 on Throne of Blood), remixing, and DJing around Europe, Asia, and the US.
Bicep also run feelmybicep.com, one of the worlds most popular underground music blogs. The blog has a taste for Disco (nu & old school) as well as other related genres such as soul, new wave, proto-house and Detroit Techno, providing a window into the singular aesthetic that is Bicep.
Eclectic posts and aesthetics and names that can make heads turn are all part and parcel.
With gigs so far this year across Asia and Europe 2011 is going to be huge when Bicep drop their own label.
This night should be absolutely off the richter!
