INTERNATIONAL DJ TALENT COMES TO AREA 33

We are flying in Worthy, one of the most prominent names associated with San Francisco house music uber-label Dirtybird. He helped define the Dirtybird sound with Claude Von Stroke and the Martin Brothers in the mid 2000s and has since founded his own, equally as successful label, Anabatic Records. He hasn't played in LA in a while and those familiar with it know that the Dirtybird sound is completely unique and unlike anything else on the global dance scene. It's a testament to the sound that entire nights at clubs all over the world on the scale of Fabric in London or Avalon right here in LA are branded "Dirtybird" nights and the entire crew is given the keys to the dancefloor from doors open to doors close.

Worthy is a tireless producer, label-boss, DJ and talent scout. He recently signed the band Mantanza for Anabatic's lateset release, showing that he is not afraid to break paradigms as long as the music is what it should be. Come hear him grace the decks as only a Dirtybird DJ can: with impeccable mixing and bumping, booty-shaking, ghetto-fabulous BASSLINES.

We also have a very special guest in Santa Cruz's Little John. He founded the annual Raindance party that features globally recognized dance music artists from all walks and genres in a camping party setting just outside of Santa Cruz. He is also part of the neXus crew, which brought the most astounding club installation to Burning Man in 2010, complete with scaffolding and massive, fire breathing domes. It is a rare LA appearance by Little John and we are thrilled to have it be at The Gold Line.

And of course, we have DarkMatter, EVA and the Legends crew along with Gold Line newcomer Throbber Baron holding it down on the newly expanded and enhanced patio.

So come to LA's premiere underground venue - Area 33 - and experience the best of a big club booking in an intimate and wonderfully absurd venue with amazing sound and an incredible vibe. We have a VJ, a massive art installation in the front foyer, and an interactive light display out on the patio. This night is not to be missed.

Moda Graphik (David Nelson Rose) will be exhibiting an Electro Architecture installation. A combination of experimental lighting and futuristic design, this sculptural work will focus on perspective and the ways in which we relate to both color and luminosity. Inspired by Olafur Eliasson, Moda Graphik works toward challenging our relationships to space and texture by bridging the music community with contemporary art practices. Definitely not to be missed, this will be his first exhibition outside of the Moon Fire Temple for 2011. Welcome aboard.
