BackToFront kicks off 2011 with the great news that we are officially back on the LAST FRIDAY of every month at our amazing little new venue. It is situated in an exposed brick, old converted warehouse, down a back alley off Stevenson Square in Manchester's Northern Quater! Its a bit of search, but well worth it.
CAPACITY IS 120, so the parties are going to be very intimate, so if you want to come, get a ticket! There'll be about 10 tickets on the door and it'll be more expensive.
We are really excited to kick in to our 5th year back in the type of venue that made our parties so special! We're keeping the line-ups tight with a mixture of new and old residents, old friends and special hand picked guests who we either love to death or who will be working with us on our new label ILLUSION RECORDINGS. We'll be releasing the line-ups SEASON by SEASON, so keep an eye out, got some amazing line-ups in the bag.
To kick off this first party we welcome JOZIF up to play his first Manchester gig. This guy is hot property at the moment and doesn't really need much introduction, so get ya ticket whilst they exist and see what all the fuss is about! Supporting JOZIF will be BackToFront original Tom Craven and new resident Liam Reilly. Liam is Manchester based but has made his name at the amazing FOR NO REASON party in Preston. Liam is a class act playing the finest house around, so we are really buzzing to get him involved over the next year.
Much love BackToFront x

JOZIF BIO:
2010 was the year that London based DJ/Producer jozif laid the foundations to become one of the most exciting artists in the house, and wider electronic music scene for years to come.
The start of 2010 saw the fabric favourite ‘Tiger Tiger’ finally see the light of day, followed a few months later by the widely acclaimed 'Chicago EP' on the New York imprint Wolf + Lamb, the title track being voted in the Top 30 tracks of 2010 by Mixmag.
The launch of jozif’s conceptual and limited edition label project, Fist or Finger, an idea borne with long-time friend and mentor Craig Richards – fabric’s Musical Director and resident – finally came to fruition with the October release of ‘Beats In Space’, the record completely selling out within 2 weeks of hitting the shops.
This success was swiftly followed in November by the release of jozif’s podcast for the leading electronic music online magazine Resident Advisor, a production showcase made up of entirely jozif productions, a collection of remixes, re-edits and originals. The podcast was met with widespread acclaim and the free downloads of the re-edits became bonafide hits with the online music world.
Always one to eschew the ‘in’ sound and truly craft his own, accolades for jozif’s unique take on house music have come thick and fast from figureheads such as Ben Watt, John Digweed, Paul Woolford, Danny Howells, Lee Burridge and Bill Brewster, as well as music journalist institutions such as DJ, Resident Advisor and Clash Magazine.
Meanwhile, jozif’s talent as a DJ has not gone unnoticed. Cited as one of Mixmag’s Top 5 Breakthrough DJs of 2010 - alongside Soul Clap, Joker, Jakwob and Jackbeats - highlights include a string of dates at fabric and We Love...Space, the first gig of the year at the legendary London institution seeing jozif grace Room 1 for a 9 hour back to back set with resident Craig Richards.
2011 promises to be a massive year, holding a diverse array of projects that are set to catapult jozif further into the spotlight: Fist or Finger coming into its own with a string of releases already causing a stir, an array of EPs penned for labels that reads like a who’s who of the finest and most cutting-edge in the business, and an ever broadening tour diary. The year begins with the eagerly awaited Sunrise EP for Agoria’s Infine imprint and feedback on the record indicates that jozif’s meteoric rise will continue unabated.
