011......its here and so is a new dimension for Limerick clubbers. With the closure of bakers we now are faced with a void......not enough venues that support underground music. The current venues could also reach saturation point and neither of these are good.
Were going to move forward as we always have...together. From here on in Micronite will still operate on a monthly basis but will be a broader and more Co operative collective of Limericks Independent promoters.
Micronite/Fried/Filthy Dubstep & Dubblebass (more to follow) will be using Dolans once a month to showcase. What does this mean for you? It means that you can avail of various styles and sounds all in the same venue once a month. the areas will be divided and rotated between the collective. The future is looking good and changes can lead to some of the most exciting concepts and projects. Expect more underground parties in various locations....this year were going to step it up to another level. Who doesn't enjoy dancing for 12 hours?.....more info to follow.
Now this Saturday sees the first CO OP gig of the season. Micronite Djs Vs Filthy Dubstep Djs will be battling between Techno and raw Dubstep in the warehouse while Drum n Bass Collective FRIED presents Dublins Fraher and Nick Fury along with Exile Chris Moore performing a special monome set. the Terrace will be powered by the Mighty Funktion One soundsystem.
The night kicks off at 11pm and its only €7 for entry.
So come down and shake some tacky with us on the 15th of janurary and help us keep banging the proper quality underground music.
