London’s longest running 7’only night, serves up a splendid aural treat for the dedicated faithful. Last time Border Crossing were asked to host the exclusive guest slot they became the first and only act in Size Doesn’t Matters history to be flooded out of the venue! Its with the greatest respect that we welcome back Dj Producer and heavy weight vinyl selector Seorais Graham.
Border Crossing are a West London deejay and production team. They have produced three albums: “Ominous” (2004), “Freedom of Speech” (2007) & “Starlines and Stellagrams” (2010). Their music spans a wide variety of styles and displays a range of influences from Hip Hop to Reggae, Soul and Electronica. Much of their work has a cinematic quality and they have also completed a film soundtrack to British feature film “Dolphins” (directed by Mark Jay).
As a soundsystem they have performed at a number of festivals and events including ‘Transmusicales’ in Rennes, (France), support for ‘De La Soul’ at the ‘Budrisisng’ festival in Dublin, the Manchester Academy and at ‘Cargo’, ‘The Scala’, and ‘Ginglick (SDM)’ in London.
As deejays, the two core members Aj and Seorais have extensive national and international experience in clubs and festivals. Notable events/venues include, ‘Homelands’, ‘The Big Chill’ and ‘Pacha’ (Ibiza). Aj, formerly the turntablist for groundbreaking band ‘Renegade Soundwave’ has a rich history as a deejay – being one of the first Hip Hop deejays to play in the U.K. with ‘The Radical Crew’ at landmark clubs, “The Language Lab” and “Titanic” in the early 1980's.
The Border Crossing team are committed to bridging the musical and social differences in society, and aim to spread a message of unity to all irrespective of any cultural differences.
‘Ominous’, ‘Freedom of Speech’ and ‘Starlines and Stellagrams’ are available via itunes and their most recent mix can be streamed or downloaded via the ‘Border Crossing’ page on Soundcloud.
