A consistent fixture on the scene both as a DJ and producer, Miss Kittin is one of the gutsiest and most prominent female presences in electronic music today. On the 3rd September we get the electro-clash queen for a full 8 hours as part of this year’s incredible A Night With... series, which has already seen the likes of Ellen Allien, Magda & Derrick Carter grace the wheels.
A former pole dancer, the Paris based DJ/Producer extraordinaire is renowned for her heavily-accented dead-pan delivery over some of the sharpest and at times fierce techno beats. Her notoriety established after appearing on fellow feline Felix Da Housecat’s Silver Screen Shower Scene’, ‘Madame Hollywood’ and Golden Boy’s ‘Rippin Kittin’, as well as with longtime friend The Hacker on ‘Frank Sinatra’. These aforementioned recordings have been unseated by a desire to sing, to scream, to rap and to croon, all of which she manages to do with ample helpings of sly wit and wordplay and a musical landscape that incorporates both brazen beats and intoxicating atmospherics.
Apart from her partner in crime The Hacker, she's collaborated with many a producer over the years, including Sven Vath, Steve Bug, Justin Berkovi and Antoneli Electric to name but a few. She released her debut solo artist album ‘I Com’ in 2004, which featured her vocal talents over a wide variety of club-friendly beats. But also showed her spreading her wings with jacking Chicago House, distorted punk attitude, skanked-up Dub and Electronic Pop as the singles ‘Professional Distortion’, ‘Requiem For A Hit’ and ‘Happy Violentine’ so aptly displayed. In 2007 came her second solo album ‘Batbox’ in 2008, followed by the second album of the collaboration with her all time favorite musical partner The Hacker entitled "Two" in 2009.
Having spent over a decade cultivating her intransigent image, she reliably brings all her gusto, charisma, inspiration and arsenal of electroclash to the decks, which have produced many seminal moments of dance-floor heaven.
