ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Simina Grigoriu is a Romanian-born DJ and music producer from Toronto. Since her move to Berlin in 2008, Simina has been playing in clubs and festivals, big and small, as well as building on her production skills. At first glance, she may not be the typical techno DJ you’d expect to stroll on stage at an East German open-air festival. But don’t let her furr...y boots and side ponytail fool you. Her DJ sets are intensely beat-driven yet have a melodic flow that move entire dance floors. Critical response to Simina's performances have been unequivocally positive, with audiences frequently commenting on her mixing skills and track selection.
Simina's musical career has been building rapidly over the last couple of years; her sound has spread throughout clubs in Toronto, Miami, New York, and all over Europe. She’s played alongside some of techno’s leading artists and, just earlier this year, performed as the opening act for the 2010 Berlin Calling Concert Tour with Paul Kalkbrenner. She has also been featured on industry-renowned radio stations including DI.fm, pulseradio.net and
motor.fm
With the release of her first EP, “Mukluks & Ponytails,” last winter on
Sonat Records, she went from playing venues of a few hundred to a few thousand people in the span of one year, selling out her records at every concert event.

Evolving at the heart of the Montreal electro scene for over 3 years, Lucie Lebel knew how to lift herself to another level as she made her mark behind the boards at major clubs such as Le Salon Daome, The Cherry, th Barraca, the Bistro VU as well as key loft parties throughout the city. Inspired by the work of John Digweed, Richie Hawtin and Mark Farina, Lucie ushers us in to her personal universe, a blend of techno and House with her own funky overtones.

Jeff Fontaine

The style of the producer and DJ Jeff Fontaine is decidedly funky and sexy. Inspiring, it will please both experts and beginners to the dance floor. It is also part of the collective Upperground Control Project, which makes parts electro-acoustic high-caliber, which allows it to maintain a reputation for avant-garde musician and DJ folk.
