Half Baked Meets Bar 25 with Matt John photo gallery
Sunny days, smiling faces, childlike fantasy and blissful beats – who could have failed to fall in love with the ultimate electronic circus that was Berlin’s Bar25? Well, Half Baked certainly fell hook line and sinker for one of the world’s best loved music venues...Therefore – we thought we’d prolong our love and we have a very very special edition – yep indeedy, it’s Half Baked meets Bar 25!
Half Baked residents Greg Brockmann and Robin Ordell will be as always, at the forefront of the notorious Half Baked railings spinning their upbeat and meticulously chosen deep house and techno. Our two residents kill it time and time again for us and for you and in true Half Baked spirit this time will be no different. Alongside Greg and Robin we are more than honoured to welcome one of techno’s leaders in the game – Bar 25 and highly lauded label Perlon’s Matt John!
Matt John’s Dj’ing began more than ten years ago at a club called Alte Weberei, a rural club close to his home town of Nordhausen in Thuringia. There in the mid-90s he discovered techno and by 1997 became addicted to those spinning turntables. The addiction grew, leaving no choice but to try electronic beats himself and seeing minimalist Plastikman spin the decks has been a revelation to Matt. Clear patterns with lots of room for ambience and experiment have been Matt’s passion ever since. He loves to communicate with the audience by catching them with his groovy minimal tech house and intelligent techno, further kicking them with new experimental inputs into other dimensions. His sets provide an escape route from everyday life, a way to relax, turn off and cop out. In the words of the man himself, he will spread out his holographic music, because “The universe is a never ending gorgeous track”
Roll up roll up...and put your hands together for Bar 25’s ultimate wild child – Danny Faber! Danny Faber has been a well-respected DJ in the Berlin music scene for more than ten years. He started out running his own underground illegal parties in Berlin, which gave him great opportunity to evolve and refine his style during many of his never-ending after party DJ sets. One thing led to another and eventually Bar25 was born. Together with a couple of friends he founded the world’s most influential after party club where many big artists from around the world have shared the DJ booth with him. With his unique sound he catches the crowd in a quirky, playful way with a deep, shy yet straightforward twist!
We are more than excited for this one, so ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...let the games begin!
Lots of love
