San Francisco has a diverse disco scene that often crosses over but not often enough! The goal of Go BANG! is to bring the crews and their devoted dancers together in a mixed, diverse, exciting environment, with a nod to the diversity and freedom of the 70's/80's San Francisco/New York/Chicago disco nightlife!
Disco freaks, art school boys & girls, drag queens & kings, boogie-heads, fierce dancers, flashy dressers, sexy girls, hot boys, DJs, dancers, photographers, artists, fashionistas; gay/straight/bi/tri/whateva! Bring your flashiest, trashiest, classiest, sexiest, craziest style; but bring an open mind, big smile, and shoes that will allow you to dance from opening to last call! We will start with fire and end with fire!
Taking inspiration from the classic Dinosaur L. song
"I wanna see all my friends at once
I'll do anything to get a chance to
**DJs Brown Amy & Carnitas throw a monthly soul dance party, Hard French, at El Rio. Hard French was just named as 'Best New Kid on the Block by the readers of GayCities.com! It is one of those great San Francisco parties with a warm & open vibe and an upbeat queer-mixed crowd, which always makes it fun to dance to. They played Go BANG! a few months ago and did an AMAZING job and we are so excited to have them back to kick off the start of the night with their rocking Northern Soul sounds! Amy & Carnita previously threw the Beauty Bar SF monthly "The Real Nitty Gritty," and have been featured together at Homo A GoGo, Fabulosa Fest, Brown Down Crown Parties, the Lexington, the Parkside, Public Works and have played guest DJ sets at award-winning San Francisco clubs like Some Thing at the Stud and Go BANG! They have been also taken their show on the road toting their 45s as far away as Toronto and New York. They have been heard on Bay Area Radio stations like Pirate Cat Radio and KALX Berkeley.

**Eugene Tambourine: Raised in Seattle, Eugene caught disco fever in his teens, citing an abandoned cassette of the Whispers' "Imagination" as the cause. Many records later he became a fixture on the city's vibrant early '90s club scene, specializing in a mix of multi-era soul and East Coast house. Afternoons were often spent writing for a fledgling music paper called XLR8R. A rock & roll epiphany at the local Eagle inspired him to switch gears and explore the missing links between Fleetwood Mac and Womack & Womack before seeking the greener pastures of New York City. Over the past decade he's been restructuring tunes and sharing them with his peers. Local heroes like Nicky Siano and Danny Krivit have approved and international disco scientists Daniel Wang and Jussi Kantonen are paying attention. At the end of the day, Eugene believes in the power of melody and programming. "Everything has a tempo" he reasons. "You can play all kinds of music in an hour." He has his San Francisco DJ Debut at Go BANG! and we're very excited to have you dance to him!
