After its 10th anniversary and a nomination for Best Indoor Festival in 2010 European Festival Awards, springfestival emerges with a new concept for a new decade.

The Noughties have seen springfestival evolve from a small local bash into a global forerunner of clubture; a meeting place for musicians, clubbers, genres and niches. Alongside a richly diverse music line-up, in 2011 springfestival will introduce Springsessions, a future-oriented conference for art, technology and design. During the day some of the brightest digital minds will deliver talks and workshops; at night they'll be joined by their music counterparts curating a selection of the finest and most cutting-edge electronic music of the moment.

The festival takes place in Graz, the 2nd largest city in Austria. Nestled around a lush green hill and a sparkly river, it combines Continental Europe charm, embodied in the delightful "Old Centre" UNESCO World Heritage site, with cutting-edge architecture erected when Graz was Cultural Capital of Europe. A city both cosmopolitan and intimate, Graz successfuly caters to the exacting demands of the 21st century urbanite.

springfestival is much like its beloved city; a mix of international and local, cosmopolitan and intimate, old and new, the festival captures the music Zeitgeist by bringing together acclaimed live acts, DJ supremos, hip bands and emerging artists.

For four special days the festival and the city become one; Graz's most unique spots are transformed into festival venues and include a dome carved in the centre of a mountain, an abandoned fortress standing guard atop a hill, a futuristic steel and glass river island and the “Friendly Alien” Museum of Modern Art.
