Butane has been a name we've wanted to bring to Boston for a long time. As the owner of Alphahouse Records in Saint Louis, he's been a vital cog in the North American techno scene for years. Responsible for tracks like "Inferno Jack," he took that minimal sound and grew it up, turning funky before our eyes.
After making it big in Berlin, he's back to spread some of that love back our way.
"As a DJ, Butane uses vinyl, Traktor Scratch, samplers, effects and whatever other new tools are available to craft his sets. Plenty of experience as a headline performer as well as an after-hour favourite enables him to play with an incredible range, and his remarkable sensitivity to the energy of the crowd is the rare trait of a seasoned and perceptive musician. His skilfully developed sets are both classy and elegant, but surely never predictable; thanks to his huge collection of new and old tracks alike, expect anything from seamlessly blended groovy, sexy, peak-time techno to warm, deep, heady house music."
