We cordiallly invite you to attend our beloved Brooklyn Shakedown @ Bembe, a DJ/Live instrumental dance party hosted by yours truly, Nutritious & Wilder. This week's edition, we welcome two legends and fine purveyors of eclectic world rhythms, djs Monchan and Ali Coleman. Both residents of NYC premier underground music station, the Dailysession.

Ali -inspired by first generation DJ/Re-mixers Francois K, Larry Le...van, David Mancuso, Larry Paterson and others- began DJ'ing around 1979. He was 13 years old. For as long as he can remember, everyone's been looking to call music "this that, and all kinds of other stuff". Through all the looking, one truth flows strongly within his mind; music is absolutely every-where! And, people dance all over the world!!!

Whether he's playing it or making it and especially dancin to it, he allows himself great-freedoms to explore all music: new and old together, soul, salsa, gospel(jersey-house), rock, jazz, classical, pun-jab, reggae, Japanese, Desi-beats, Turkish, Hip-Hop, Arabian, Brazilian, Indo-jazz, R&B, Bengali, pop, Russian, 1950's to present, dance, and everything in between - from almost every continent on earth. "I believe no matter what we call it, it all comes from the same drum."

Monchan -whose presence has been heard and felt at nearly every nyc shakedown party- should need no introduction, but in case he does, here goes: Monchan is a purveyor of fine vinyl. Nearly every record that comes through this town crosses Monchan's path - which is why he's most often curating the sales selections at some of the cities longest running and most prestigious record stores and distributors. He's also curator of the Dailysession radio station which broadcasts esteemed NYC events like WEPA!, legendary dj Danny Krivit's party appearances, and Aqua-Booty, just to name a few. Dailysession also plays host to live broadcasts of world events and there's no limit to their reach, except it must be true, underground, and exceptional.

With over 20 years blessing the decks, it is with great honor that we admit to you Monchan is one of new york's smoothest selectors. Find out for yourself as Monchan brings all styles to the table Wednesday night, although we hear he may drop some extra Latin, Afro, Funk into his already golden bag of beats.
