Robots present Luciano And Digitaline photo gallery
ROBOTS would like to thank all the Underground Robot Alliance members for partying with Sven Vath on the first round of three ROBOTS LOVE MAY 2007 parties presenting the very best selection of techno from the world's leading artists. Now we are on to round two, with Luciano and Digitaline Live of Cadenza records from Switzerland who describe their record label as a space for music to grow, this is why the ‘gardening robot’ uses hornets, the top predators of the insect world. Comparable with the birds of prey in the bird world-hornet’s are the eagles of the insects. ROBOTS and european hornets have two things in common: they both only catch living animals of prey, and both hunt at night! Be prepared for the sting!
Amazingly, this will only be Luciano’s third time in New York City and Robots are fortunate to catch the ‘hottest man’ in techno on a two show US stop-over as he comes to play at MOVEMENT-the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) and at Cielo in New York City with ROBOTS at the end of May. Words can’t really begin to encapsulate Luciano’s genius-he has rightly risen to the top of the techno scene over the last 2 years, not only through his beautifully crafted productions and draw dropping DJ sets, but also because he’s simply one of the nicest guys your likely meet.
DIGITALINE LIVE (Cadenza):
Digitaline is Laurent Bovey aka Laps and Gregory Poncet aka Gregorythme. Both live in Lausanne, Switzerland and have played music together for about three years. They could have started something like a postcore or a grindrock project but they prefered techno... minimal techno. They don’t know why... but they fell in love with drum machines! They keep the best of what they do for their liveact and have performed locally at institutions such as, Zürich’s Street Parade and the legendary Dachantine, and internationally at clubs like Panorama Bar, Fabric, Rex and Cocoon, flipping their groovy, minimalist studio experiments into a kick-ass live show that’s as “mega” as its details are “micro.”
Digitaline’s latest release Anticlockwise, a full length album on Cadenza, showcases 8 irresistible groove led tracks that bring together a classic jacking vibe, kitted out in alien tones and melodies that dance on the edge of melancholy.
