Circa June 2009 the Democratic Republic of Feel Good Thunder was founded at Virginia Place's neglected Lite Club. They have hosted an array of parties in some of Glasgow’s favourite venues, including the Art School, Sub Club & the Studio Warehouse (SWG3) to name but a few, and have also snapped up guest slots with RPZ, Melting Pot and in the Supermaxx Disco Ballroom at The Wee Chill. Thunder Disco Club seek to provide a bimonthly aphrodisiac to Glasgow’s brimming clubbing calendar and although heavily influenced by Disco, they are very much about throwing a party: so if it looks good with clothes on, it will look better with clothes off. The nomadic collective strongly believe in experimenting with new concepts that give each party its own identity, spinning this out through its own brand of audio-visual ‘disco-xploitation’ as an ode to Cult Cinema and ‘Betamax inspired sleaze’. Since November, Thunder Disco Club have been providing an ever evolving hamper of goodies in the form of www.thunderdiscoclub.com (already tipped off by Ibiza big boys We Love..) which showcases their preferred musical tipple - a la guest mixes and disco diamonds from past and present. Thunder Disco Club are currently putting the finishing touches to their intercontinental gateaux of boogie before a two-round co promo with Irish heavyweights FeelMyBicep (Throne of Blood) and a headline slot at The Electric Frog Street Carnival ( http://www.electricfrog.weareeveryone.com ) Watch this space.
