For our second edition of Smile for a while we present two amazing headliners, I:Cube & Iron Curtis!

Nicolas Chaix aka I:Cube is not only one of the strongest talents out of Paris, but also on the international electronic circuit. He is the mastermind behind quite a few essential 12"s and albums and also got an impressive string of remixes under his belt. Nicolas is also one half of the superb Chateau Flight outfit, teaming up with his partner in crime, who goes by the name of Gilb'r (and who's also runs the Versatile imprint). Nicolas manages to cater to a wide a range of musical tastes fusing deepest Technosoul, bottom-heavy dope beats and abstract house runnings to create his inimitable I:Cube sound. An incredible talent hidden behind the ghosts in his machines.

Iron Curtis’ pieces originate in a place simultaneously tuned to the sounds of Detroit, Chicago and Hamburg. In his home town of Nürnberg, Johannes Paluka is more familiarly known under his surname, which he goes by at the turntable. Intertwining Deep-House with soulful Techno in a disturbingly enchanting manner, his sound moves in the equilibrium of reduced, but never minimal. Flashes of kitsch brighten the dark universe of Iron Curtis, but fail to interfere with the melancholy subtext. Profound music for the dance floor! He is currently living in Berlin and had several releases for labels like Mirau, Morris Audio, Retreat and Mule Electronic.
