Robert Hood

Born and raised in Detroit, USA, Robert was destined to have music become the primary backbone of his future. He was raised by a family that were heavily intertwined with the sounds of MOTOWN as well as that of Philly Soul.

He started by collecting and heavily scrutinizing records and finally picked up a drum machine and a TR 505 in the early 90’s and quickly began his journey.

After being introduced to MIKE BANKS and JEFF MILLS who were both working as a production unit at the time, HOOD quickly became a more active founding member of that group, which developed into UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE.

Shortly thereafter, HOOD and JEFF MILLS branched off and created AXIS Recordings, which catered to more abstract and “house” related sounds.

Robert then went on to create his own label, “M PLANT” in ’94, where he expanded on the sounds he was creating at AXIS and moved them forward into a more minimalistic, “grey area sound.” A sound he directly relates to the atmosphere in Detroit. Utilizing sounds that he feels depict the atmospheric haze layering the abandoned buildings and the lifelessness in the city and more specifically, it’s downtown core.

The outcome of which are his Minimalist soundscapes.

His History is incredible musically and his discography is simply massive….

AND ROBERT HOOD plans to bring to the ring all of the suspense and tension of Charlton Heston’s last man on earth “battle for survival” into the frenetic energy when his very own OMEGA comes ALIVE!

On May 28, 2011, OMEGA comes ALIVE and fights for survival in the ring!
