Promoter / Yeti in the Basement
Yeti in the Basement kicks off with a night of un-missable sounds from the ever evolving UK Bass scene. As well as the most captivating sounds of the future blasting through our systems, you can expect an abundance of GIVE-AWAYS including tee's, posters, stickers and more.
As Easter bank holiday approaches, the basement yeti camp is getting hyped up for a night of bass driven shenanigans. This time round we bring to you Rinse FM don Scratcha DVA accompanied by progressive rhythm selector Optimum alongside superb groove pusher James Fox. Supporting them will be a carefully selected list of DJs providing the finest dubstep, uk funky, 80’s disco and anything in between. Roll off Old Street and join us at east-London’s characteristic boozer NOMAD for some quality sound-system antics.
Follow the Yeti to a night that'll counter your regular outings.
SCRATCHA DVA (Rinse FM/ Hyperdub) -
There was a time, a time before dot com's, tweets and share buttons when the local radio DJ's reigned supreme. When people tuned in daliy for the freshest music, news and banter. In London, one anchorman has taken us back to those golden years. Host of the flagship ‘Grimey Breakfast' show on very relevant Rinse FM, you'll find a man involved in every aspect of today's UK bass scene, Scratcha DVA.
OPTIMUM (Hum + Buzz/ Night Slugs) -
Optimum's unique sound combines powerful sub basslines, razor sharp percussion and melodic sci-fi synths, for a truly modern club aesthetic. He is placed right in the middle of the current mutating, UK crossover 'Bass' scene. His energetic DJ sets, take in everything from the freshest dubplates, Grime to UK Funky to House/Techno to Juke and R&B.
JAMES FOX (Take/ Well Rounded) -
James Fox's production is crisp and brittle. The type of deep bass driven music you can nod to on the bus or fist punch to at a club. His distinctive sub driven style quickly found a home at experimental endeavor's Take Imprint. Forthcomming releases see the London based producer experiment with house tempos and R&B grooves. His contribution to the line up will fit solidly with the unsullied, forward thinking sound we push for.
Plus amazing sets from:
SYNAMATIX (Deadplate) -
BAITFACE (Yeti in the Basement) -
TEMPLE (Aka Aka Roar) -
SPECTRE (Yeti in the Basement)
