The Mister's been spending most of his time outside on Sundays this summer, but Saturday Night shouldn't be ignored one bit. For this one, we're making the night time the right time with Eamon and Justin playing alongside Rick Wilhite.
Rick is a godfather of Detroit's dance music scene (though he's known officially as The Godson). He's been DJing for ages, ran one of Detroit's most notable record stores for years, and alongside Theo Parrish and Moodymann (and sometimes Marcellus Pittman), he completes the 3 Chairs supergroup. This year, he released his debut solo full length on Chicago's Still Music label. Crazy to think that a man who's been making music for such a long time hasn't released an LP until now, but no matter how long it's taken, it was worth the wait.
This one's going down at 12-turn-13. Big roof, great dancefloor, private loft turned party place. It's one of our favorite places to get down. Beer's free for the first hour of the party, the sound system's tight, and we'll be getting down until at least five in the morning.
See you there.
